Jeff the Deadly Nadder

Just posting another update of my puppet/ costume of the Deadly Nadder from How to Train your Dragon. I still have quite a bit to do on him but at least I was able to take him out for a test spin today and see what was working properly.

I'll actually be bringing him to Megacon this year for his debut, so if anyone's going keep your eyes out and feel free to stop by and say hello!

And here's a video to see how he looks. As you can see, there are definitely a lot of things that I'm still working on.

Cat-astrophe

Hey everyone, guess what I've got. ... Yet another paper cut! I just love making these so much! This one I used a little bit more gouache and watercolor to work on the coloring of the cats.

This piece has a lot more space in it. Each branch goes further back into the picture frame until the last one is actually stuck flat on the back panel.

Here's a detail of the cats.

It's a little easier to see the depth between the branches in this one.

Happy New Year

I hope everyone's having a great new year so far! I'm going to try even harder this year to continue to improve my artwork and technical abilities!

Illustrator/Photoshop

This is my current concept that I'm working on for my thesis. I'm still messing around with the story and the character designs.

This was also a huge experiment to see if I could take a digital image and make it look like a paper cut out. It took a little longer to do it this way, but I was definitely able to learn a lot from it.
