The Dream of the Fisherman's Wife/ CTN

This is my piece for the Dream of the Fisherman's Wife show that will be happening this weekend in LA. The entire show is themed around tentacles, anything from a squid to the kraken. So I created this girl based mostly off of a squid.

The entire piece is paper, with gouache for the little details.

In other news: I will be at CTN this weekend, all three days. I'm looking forward to meet a lot of amazing artists and being so inspired by everything I see. I'll be running around with my portfolio and business cards saying hi to everyone I can! I'm super excited and can't wait for it!

Samurai and Geisha Show

This weekend there will be a Samurai and Geisha themed art show and other events going on in Little Tokyo and I've been given the honor of having two pieces in the show. (seen below) I will be at the show most of the day and they will also be having an artist meet and greet at 4:00.

There are actually 4 creatures hidden in the kimono of the second piece. Feel free to try and find them all! :D

How to Train Your Dragon Kickstarter

I've been wanting to rebuild my Deadly Nadder puppet/costume ever since he broke, which was a couple years ago, but unfortunately I haven't been able to meet the financial needs it would require to rebuild him. So I've started a Kickstarter to help me raise enough funds to rebuild him.

This time he’s going to be built with much better and sturdier materials to make sure that he lasts for a while. I’ll also be making older Astrid’s outfit from the new movie as well. AND hopefully this will all be done in time for the How To Train Your Dragon 2 premier next year.

If you'd like you can check out the Kickstarter here!

Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy UNITE!

This piece is my entry for the Spongebob Squarepants Fan Shellabration. I couldn't resist making a piece with this duo. They were always some my favorite characters in the show.

I'm Still Here!

I've been neglecting this blog again and I'm sorry about that. I have been posting a lot of sketches and little things like that on my Tumblr though if you'd like to see more frequent posts. This is just going to be a massive post of everything I've been working on up until now.

This piece was featured as part of the Chuck Jones Red Dot auction and now has a new home. It's based off of the Looney Tunes episode "What's Opera Doc?".

Just some sketches and quick speed paints I've done.

This was a commission for a friend.

This piece was featured in the Anime Explode show in Korea Town a few weeks ago. It's based off the Studio Ghibli film "Kiki's Delivery Service".

Marine

This was a commission that I just finished up of the commissioner's original character, Marine. I was told that she's a treasure hunter and collector of antique items who works at a dock. I decided to try working with a more saturated palette for this piece.

Sketchin' Time

I'm going to go ahead and start posting my sketches on here as well. I hope that's alright. Here are a few tidbits from my sketchbook pages.

Ouran

I decided to work with scenes from shows and movies that I enjoy to get a better feel for color, textures, etc. This first one is based off of a scene from Ouran High School Host Club.

Chi's Sweet Home

This piece is based on the cute show Chi's Sweet Home. I fell in love with it immediately after watching it. This piece is for sale!

Space Girl Commission

This was a commission I got to do for a friend. It was so much fun to try something different.

Etsy Store and New PaperCut

I've been continuing with the paper cut outs recently and I've posted a few of them in my Etsy. Feel free to check them out! I'll be posting more pieces in there over the next few weeks.

I just finished this piece yesterday and it's for sale in the store! It's based off of Alice in Wonderland.

This piece from the Chinese New Year is also up for sale in the store.

Last Folder for Now

This folder was made for Dreamworks Animation. It has my resume in the back and my business card is removable. I had a ton of fun working on this and experimenting with a few different techniques.

Unfortunately this is the last folder I'm doing for the different studios for now. I hope everyone enjoyed them!

Still More Folders To Come

This one was created for Jim Henson Studios. I grew up watching the Muppet Show so this piece brought back so many wonderful memories! As with the others, my resume is behind the back panel and my business card is removable.

Statler's hair is actually a light grey, but the light was coming from behind him so it looks white.

I'm having a ton of fun making these and I'm learning a lot in the process!
